General Event information
On August 23 – 24 – 25 we have the pleasure to organize in cooperation with the Dutch Kite Association NKV and Kitefoil Club Holland the Open Dutch Championship kitefoiling 2019. The event will take place over 3 racing days on the North Sea.
The timing of the event is during the summer season and in a week where the watersport club organizes all type of activities. Every evening there will be activities and on the beach area there will be a big tent where you can chat, drink and eat. The watersport club has organized multiple big events for catamaran sailing and has all the facilities in house to support you all during this event.

Event location
The event will be organized by the local watersport club Skuytevaert. The location of the club is on the south side of the beach in Katwijk, The Netherlands.
Location club and race site
From the club it is a few minutes walking over the dunes to go the nearest camping. Katwijk host 2 camping sides, one direct behind the dunes, camping de Zuidduinen and camping Molecaten Park Noordduinen.
Next to both campings, on the beach there are around 90 beach houses. These last ones are fantastic place to lodge with sunset in front of you. These beach houses can be via the below links.

Event program
The championship will take place over the 3 racing days, 23 – 24 – 25 August. In the days before you have the possibility to already get yourself familiar with the circumstances at site. The club will be open and you can make use of all the hospitalities the club offers. More details about all activities during that week will follow later.
On Friday we will start with racing. Every day there will be a goal to have 4 races organized. Pending on the amount of competitors 1 or 2 race tracks will be in the water to guarantee the highest safety for the participants. Starting time of the races will be 11.00hr if the weather circumstances allow. There will be 2 back to back races. After 2 races there is a break and after the break another 2 races will follow.
Foil Classes
All participants will be divided in several classes and you all race in one group.
The classes foreseen are:
• Overall
• Youth under 18
• Youth 18 – 20
• Senior 21 – 34
• Master 35 – 44
• Grand Master 45+
This will be applicable for man and woman.
There will be not material restrictions.
Racing will be according the International Formula Rules.
Social Program
Skuytevaert as a club organizes every year in August a week of all kind of watersport activities for kids and also adults. These activities are : kite clinics, rafting, wave surfing, canoeing etc. Also sailing with catamarans is part of this event. The week starts in the weekend before, 16 August.
Also during the evenings there are all kind of activities and especially in the weekends where live music is programmed. The music will be in the tent on the beach. Food and drinks are available at the club during the whole day.

Storage of material
Skuytevaert offers the possibility storing your material on the club. There will be a number of lockers made available and also a container where you can store your material and have it safe secured. Next to that there is 24/7 security on the beach to keep an eye on you while on the water and on your material during the night.

Kite testday by Versus
Depending on weather conditions from 17 Aug – 25 August Versusshop will come with several material to the beach for you to test. Material to be tested will be tube and foil kites as well as twintip, wave and foilboards.
